Carrie & Jesse

29 degrees with snow flurries and winds reaching 20mph. Carrie and Jesse had a great attitude and didn't let the weather stop them from enjoying their day. We started out at Como, then went on a photo safari, via limo, to the Guthrie and Mill City Museum. On the way back we hit Como once more for the bridge scene and to frolic in the snow flurries. A spirited group they were.... which made for some memorable scenes. Good luck you guys. DCharles Photography.

Glass plate negative from 1800's

My friend bought a bunch of these glass plate negatives at Ax-Man Surplus. Dry glass plate negatives were widely used between 1880 and 1920 when the new technology of gelatin silver negatives became available on roll film. I have included both the negative and positive for comparison. These glass plates were taken on an 8x10 camera, in which the image is viewed up side down and backwards, and notice the photographer would sometimes take two images per glass plate. No immediate digital feedback with this process. St. Paul's Monastery & The Minneapolis Heart Institute

I've been working on a couple corporate brochures this autumn. One is a funding brochure for St. Paul's Monastery and the other is a capabilities brochure for The Minneapolis Heart Institute. The projects involved taking photographs of children, architects, doctors, patients, nuns & technology.

Twins-Madison & Jenna

What a great session with two fun and energetic seniors. They like the warehouse feeling, so I found a great alley along the Stone Arch Bridge with plenty of backgrounds. We shot in color then changed all of these to BW. View more Senior Photography.

Julie & John

Wow, the rain stopped and we had a great day with Julie and John for their pre-wedding shoot. They're getting married in November, so decided on the pre-wedding shoot while the mild weather is still with us. We started out at Como, where the wedding will be, then headed to Fort Snelling Park and back to the Stone Arch Bridge, just past the tame deer for the final shots. Wendy & Scott

My niece Wendy, married Scott on Sept. 20 at the Resort. One huge tent, two great bands ( one polka and one R&R), one limbo that lasted forever, and one bouncy room for the kids.....Wendy and Scott decided to join in with the kids, one flower pot dance and a fireworks show that filled the tent with smoke. I hear some other adults invaded the bounce room later on that morning. That was a great time, I haven't danced that much in years. Good luck Wendy and Scott!
